Study says caffeine intake may help prevent
Parkinson's
A study in the journal Neurology
found a 76% lower concentration of caffeine in the blood of people with
Parkinson's disease who had the LRRK2 gene mutation that raises the risk of the
disease, compared with those who had the mutation and did not have the disease.
Among non-carriers of the gene mutation, caffeine concentration was 31% lower
in people with Parkinson's than those without it.
