Sentara, which operates a system of 12 hospitals, has a robust health insurance unit, currently serving 832,084 members in its Optima Health and Virginia Premier products. Cone Health operates a five-hospital system and has a smaller managed care business. Its wholly owned insurance unit, Care N’ Care Insurance Company of North Carolina, currently serves 29,492 Medicare Advantage members in its HealthTeam Advantage-branded plans.
