The Leadership Quotient (LQ) is the capacity in which a leader
executes tasks without allowing the subconscious mind to interfere or impede
the process of attaining tasks and achieving goals expeditiously and
confidently. I've identified five top characteristics people with a high
leadership quotient possess.
Emotional Fortitude
Effective leaders must be capable of giving and receiving
real-time feedback, communicating expectations, and having difficult but
necessary conversations.
Courageous Action
Leaders solve problems both preemptively and as they arise.
Courageous leaders never depend on anyone to do their job or solve their
problems.
Unconventional Life
"Be yourself everyone else is already
taken" ~ Oscar Wilde
Be bold enough to break free of conventional expectations. Being
unconventional means knowing yourself, persevering through your fears, and
always being your authentic self.
Confidence
Have you ever wondered why certain leaders excel, while others
fail? One of the most confident and brilliant minds of our generation, Steve
Jobs, had an unshakable resolve and commitment towards achieving
excellence. He said, "Life can be much broader once you discover one
simple fact: Everything around you that you call life was made up by people
that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it...
Once you learn that, you'll never be the same again."
How you respond to life's challenges, speaks volumes about your
character. As a leader your confidence is contagious and it sets both the
culture and bar for your team's ability to succeed.
LOVE = Leadership, Optimism, Values, Endurance
"There is no fear in love. But perfect
love drives out of fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who
fears is not made perfect in love." 1 John 4:18
When leadership is built on love, obstacles are overcome through
love's fruit of optimism, foundations are built solid and secure in love's
values, and success is achieved through the strength found in love's endurance.
I challenge you to take action and overcome fear through love every day.
Successful leadership in both the personal and professional realms is derived from love.
"You have to be burning with an idea, or
problem, or a wrong that you want to right. If you're not passionate enough
from the start, you'll never stick it out."
-Steve Jobs
