Giroir: COVID-19 vaccines should be effective against new variants

HHS Assistant Secretary for Health Brett Giroir, who oversees US COVID-19 testing, said current COVID-19 vaccines should be effective against many strains of the virus including the potentially more infectious variant circulating in the UK. Former Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, who will return to the position once President-elect Joe Biden takes office, said there's no evidence that the British strain is more fatal, though it "seems to be more transmissible."
