The FDA moved to redefine "healthy" foods
Why it matters: The government agency is proposing updated
guidelines to determine which foods can be labeled as being "healthy"
in an effort to better inform consumers and make inroads toward health equity.
Factors such as up-to-date nutrition science and dietary guidance, as well as
limits on saturated fats and certain nutrients, will be considered under the
proposed rules.
