Do you have a pending VA claim? If you do, it may be able to be fast-tracked. The Lincoln VA Regional Office is holding another virtual claims clinic September 7-9. For more information about the clinic, contact your County Veteran Service Officer (CVSO) or the State Service Office. Purple Heart Day, observed annually on August 7, is a day to reflect on the dangers our military service members face and the sacrifices they make in service of our country. Registration Still Open for the Nebraska Women
Veterans Symposium!

We’re less than one month away from the Nebraska Women Veterans Symposium! Registration is available at veterans.nebraska.gov/womenveterans and is open until the date of the event or when all spots are filled. Past National Commander of the American Legion Denise Rohan, who was the first woman to be elected to the top position of the American Legion, will be the keynote speaker. Leaders in the women veterans and military community will take part in a panel discussion titled “Celebrating Who I Was and Who I’ve Become,” about the struggles women veterans face both while serving in the Armed Forces and while transitioning out of the service. Additional presenters include:

Now Hiring: Nurses at Nebraska’s Veterans’ Homes

The Nebraska Department of Veterans’ Affairs is hiring RNs, LPNs, and CNAs to work in our four veterans’ homes in Bellevue, Norfolk, Kearney, and Scottsbluff! NDVA offers a hiring bonus, commuting bonus, and $3/hour differential for every hour worked plus additional pay based on experience.
