Lessons were learned for vaccine bonds
Why it matters: All it took was a real-life pandemic to expose
the flaws in the structuring of financial instruments known as pandemic bonds. While things like faulty trigger mechanisms
slowed the payout of funds for this pandemic, the idea is still sound. Now it's
time to fine tune the fine print ... and maybe even create a standing fund to
help prepare for the next pandemic.
