Singapore police tapped data from a COVID-19 contact tracing app

Why it matters: Just as privacy advocates feared when contact tracing apps were unveiled, data from the apps is now being accessed by police. The cynic in me knows this news is not surprising, but it's still bad news for officials in other jurisdictions where use of such apps is voluntary.
