COVID-19 vaccines will be reviewed by outside experts

FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn assured the public that any potential COVID-19 vaccines will be reviewed by an outside advisory panel in accordance with established regulatory and legal standards for medical products. "Given the widespread potential use of a COVID-19 vaccine, transparent discussion at FDA's Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee will be needed," Hahn and other FDA officials wrote in JAMA.
