Senate bill would let hospitals, labs use USPS tool

Sens. Bill Cassidy, R-La., and Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., introduced legislation that would give hospitals and COVID-19 testing labs access to the US Postal Service's address-formatting tool. If approved in the next coronavirus pandemic relief package, the proposed Patient Matching Improvement Act would improve the accuracy of patient data, facilitate COVID-19 contact tracing and potentially boost patient safety, the bill's sponsors say.
