US COVID-19 cases top 6M, deaths approach 183K

The number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the US has topped 6 million, while fatalities approach 183,000, as new cases continue to rise in many states in the Midwest. New infections, hospitalizations, deaths and positivity rates are dropping nationwide, but record single-day spike were recently reported in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
