A report released by Democrats on the Joint Economic Committee of
Congress showed workers ages 65 and older have been more affected than younger
workers by unemployment during the novel coronavirus pandemic, and one-third of
adults ages 55 to 64 don't have a pension or other employer-sponsored
retirement savings plan. Matt Rutledge at the Center for Retirement Research
says adults who need to catch up on their retirement savings can invest in an
individual retirement account or save through a spouse's 401(k) plan.
