N.Y. county sees jump in elder abuse cases

Nassau, N.Y., district attorney Madeline Singas says felony arrests so far this year for elder abuse total 36, compared with 13 arrests by the end of August 2019. Prosecutors say staying at home to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus may have created conditions that led to more conflicts between older adults and adult children or grandchildren in multigenerational homes.
