Report describes apparent COVID-19 reinfection


Scientists reported the first known case of apparent reinfection with the novel coronavirus in the US, documented in a 25-year-old Nevada man, according to a pre-print study that has yet to be peer-reviewed. First diagnosed with COVID-19 in April, the patient tested negative twice after April 27, but he sought care on May 31 for COVID-19-related symptoms and was hospitalized five days later and tested positive again. Tests indicate the infections were distinct.
