Experts: Ageism found throughout hiring process


Research shows older workers face ageism in hiring, and Gordon Dahl, professor of economics at the University of California at San Diego, says data show for every 1 percentage point increase in unemployment, the interview callback rate for an older woman decreases by 14%, compared with a younger person. Studies suggest some ways to fight ageism in hiring are to look for public sector rather than private sector jobs, include dates on a resume, and keep resume and interview themes active.
