Interim HHS, CMS leaders appointed
HHS Deputy Assistant Secretary of Budget Norris Cochran will serve
as acting HHS secretary while nominee Xavier Becerra is undergoing the
confirmation process, which might last into February. HHS Office of Minority
Health Director Felicia Collins will serve as acting assistant HHS secretary,
while CMS Deputy Director Elizabeth Richter will serve as acting CMS administrator
until nominees for the posts are confirmed.
