§ The Democratic and Republican National Conventions were
held these past two weeks. Upended by the coronavirus pandemic, the
all-virtual conventions played out unlike any before, with many speakers’
remarks pre-recorded without any of the usual pomp and circumstance that have
marked previous conventions.
§ CMS hosted a virtual Agents and Brokers Roundtable this
week, where CCIIO introduced the new Complex Case Help Center to assist
agents and brokers with challenging enrollment cases. This is a direct result
of NAHU’s continued request that CCIIO set up an agent “hotline” within the
exchange.
§ On September 9 at 2:00 p.m. ET, CMS is hosting a virtual
roundtable discussion for employers that are currently offering an ICHRA. If
you or your employer client is interested, register here.
§ Were you able to get on the calendars of your
representative and senators to talk with them about our legislative
priorities? The annual congressional summer recess is a prime time for NAHU
members to meet with their federal legislators and help guide the next wave
of healthcare reform legislation. Please submit any follow-up info from your
summer in-district meetings here.
§ The first ever virtual Republican National Convention was
held this week. Listen
to NAHU Vice President of Congressional Affairs John Greene and Senior Vice
President of Government Affairs Marcy M. Buckner discuss the convention on
this week’s episode of the Healthcare Happy Hour.
§ The 2020 ACA and health reform reporting season will be
like no other we’ve seen, and adding to that complexity for employers, is the
growing number of state-based obligations for reporting on individual
healthcare coverage. Register
for our next Compliance Corner webinar hosted by Health e(fx), focused on
challenging six misconceptions employers have about state-based individual
mandate reporting requirements.
§ Did you miss this week’s Running Your Business webinar? In
this webinar, Steve Odgen, sales manager at AgencyBloc, discusses how to thoroughly
vet technology vendors you’re thinking of doing business with so you can find
a true partner, not just a product. Watch it here.
