Higher vitamin C levels may protect muscle mass


A study in the Journal of Nutrition found adults with the highest levels of vitamin C had the greatest estimated skeletal muscle mass, when compared with those who had the lowest levels. The study included more than 13,000 people ages 42 to 82 and vitamin C was analyzed using data from seven-day food diaries and blood samples.
