Older adults left out of COVID-19 economic discussion


Older adults often are left out of the discussion about the economic impact of the novel coronavirus pandemic because it is assumed people who are not working aren't affected, says Jan Mutchler, director of the Center for Social and Demographic Research on Aging at the University of Massachusetts Boston's Gerontology Institute. A study by the institute estimated 28% of people in Massachusetts age 60 or older expect to lose income by the end of this summer.
