An updated report from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the
Children's Hospital Association showed the number of pediatric COVID-19 cases
in the US jumped 21% from Aug. 6 to Aug. 20, bringing the total number of
pediatric cases to over 440,000 since the pandemic started. About one-third of
children hospitalized for COVID-19 are admitted to intensive care, the report
noted.
